My mother asked me to make a Vegetable Tray for her Christmas party. I decided to try to make a Vegetable Christmas Tree. I saw pictures of them on Pinterest and wanted to try it. This party was the perfect opportunity.
Things you need:
- Styrofoam Cone. I used a 12″ by 4″ but it was way too big. Next time I will use a 9″ by 3″.
- Mounting Squares
- Bell Peppers. I used yellow, red and orange.
- Small Grape Tomatoes. The ones I used were little too big. Next time I will look for smaller ones.
- Sturdy Toothpicks.
- Baby carrots.
Use mounting squares to mount the cone to the bottom of a small plate. You want to make sure it is sturdy because of the weight of the vegetables. Make sure you washed the cone and take off the sticker (I had to go back and do that after I snapped this picture). Keep the plastic on the cone or wrap it in aluminum foil to prevent styrofoam on the vegetables.
Use toothpicks to place broccoli on the cone. After you start this process, you can fill holes with broccoli without a toothpick.
Break up cauliflower and place around the base of the tree for the snow. Use toothpicks to decorate Vegetable Christmas Tree with tomatoes and bell peppers. You can then take baby carrots and stuff them into the tree. I used a cross section of a yellow bell pepper for the star, but you could cut a star out of a yellow pepper.
That’s it. It is simple and a very nice centerpiece. My mother’s friends loved the tree and ate most of it. Give it a try. The whole process was relaxing and made a beautiful presentation.
Thanks for stopping by!
